Track Record: Arias signed with San Francisco at the opening of the 2023 international signing period. The lithe Dominican outfielder earned the Giants’ top bonus of $2,697,500 and began his career in the Dominican Summer League. Arias is the son of longtime scout Pablo Arias, which meant Rayner grew up around the game. His season was limited to just 16 games by a broken left wrist suffered on a diving catch on June 30. He made a big impression in a small sample, hitting .414 with 12 extra-base hits, including four homers.
Scouting Report: Despite the limited sample, Arias made a big impression in his short time on the field. He was one of the youngest players in the class and will not turn 18 until late April 2024. He already shows an enticing combination of both strength and projectability that makes him one of the highest-upside prospects in the system. In the short sample, Arias produced average and 90th percentile exit velocities of 86.1 and 100.9 mph, both of which were elite figures for his age level and would be around the average EVs produced by Low-A hitters in 2023. Arias controls the zone as well, with more walks (15) than strikeouts (11) before the injury. He also swung less frequently and made contact more often than most DSL players. Arias will have plenty of leash when it comes to staying in center field, where his speed and lithe body should fit well. If he gets too big, however, his bat, average speed and above-average arm strength would profile in right field.
The Future: After an offseason to recover, Arias should begin 2024 in the Arizona Complex League. He has a chance to be a well-rounded player who fits near the top of an order and provides value on both sides of the ball.

Track Record: Arias was one of the most coveted players in the 2022-2023 international class and was lauded by internal evaluators as the most complete in San Francisco's class. He's got more feel for the game than most players his age because he is the son of longtime scout Pablo Arias. He will debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2023.
Scouting Report: Arias' game is built around an offensive profile. He makes loud contact thanks to a swing powered by burly strength rather than lightning-quick bat speed. He has quick hands and rotates his hips well, which helps him catch up to high-quality fastballs. He's also shown an ability to use right-center field to his advantage. He already recognizes spin well but has a ways to go in terms of learning to lay off of those pitches. Arias is a fringy runner and defender with plus arm strength that will serve him well in right field.
The Future: Arias will begin his pro career in the Dominican Summer League in 2023.
