Track Record: After Cho turned heads in the annual High School Power Showcase, the South Korean slugger was very much on the radar of MLB teams. The rare international amateur from Asia, Cho signed with the Cardinals for a $500,000 bonus in January of 2022. He debuted in the Florida Complex League the following summer and played in 26 games. Cho was assigned to Low-A Palm Beach to begin 2023 and hit .270 in 105 games with a 14.2% walk rate.
Scouting Report: Cho is bat-first corner outfielder with enough supporting skills to project everyday upside. He shows a good balance of skills at the plate, with average bat-to-ball ability and a discerning eye. He shows a lack of adjustability in his swing and struggles to adjust to soft stuff, but is adept at hitting high fastballs thanks to his more linear bat plane at contact. Cho shows above-average raw power, but struggles to get to it due to his struggles with certain pitches inside and the lack of loft in his bat path. Cho will likely slow down as his body matures, but at present he’s an above-average runner with a quick first step and is an effective basestealer. Cho spent time in all three outfield positions but should settle in an outfield corner where his above-average arm will play.
The Future: Cho has solid all-around skills and could develop into a regular with swing adjustments.

BA Grade: 40/High
Track Record: The Cardinals signed Cho at 18 when the 2021-22 international signing period opened on Jan. 15, 2022, making the Korean outfielder the first Asian amateur signing in franchise history.
Scouting Report: Cho has a fluid, easy stroke from the left side. It' s an adjustable stroke with good bat control, allowing him to square balls up for a high contact rate and go the opposite way when he' s pitched on the outer third. Cho mostly shows power to the alleys now, but he has the strength projection in his 6-foot-3 frame to grow into more power. That will be key for Cho, who' s around an average runner and can play center field for now, but could end up shifting over to a corner.
The Future: Cho has an intriguing offensive profile, with encouraging early looks at camp in Florida. He will make his pro debut in 2022.
