Schiefelbein is a lean and lanky lefthander with a 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame and some of the best command in the prep class. Schiefelbein throws his fastball in the 88-92 mph range and has been up to 94 but he does a great job throwing his fastball for strikes and attacking the top of the zone from a three-quarters slot. He has feel to spin the baseball and throws both a mid-70s curveball and a slider that’s a few ticks harder and will also drop in an occasional changeup around 80. Schiefelbein could take a huge step forward if he packs on more strength and adds a bit of velocity that could amplify his entire arsenal. He is committed to UCLA.
