Wiggins is the brother of Jaxon Wiggins, who the Cubs drafted with their second-round pick out of Arkansas in 2023, Carson is another power arm in the family. Wiggins is one of the hardest-throwing preps in the 2024 class and has been up to 99 mph and typically sits in the 93-97 mph range in short stints. That fastball velocity alone is overpowering, but he has also flashed a real slider with power in the mid 80s and mixes in a solid mid-80s splitter as well. Wiggins operates with a low-effort delivery and has a great pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds but he can be wildly inconsistent from outing to outing with his control and needs to make strides as a strike thrower. He is committed to Arkansas like his brother before him.
